Massacci Claims He Is Joining Manchester United

According to ESPN Soccernet, Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that 16-year-old Empoli starlet Alberto Massacci claimed that he is joining Manchester United. He said,

“When they called me, I really couldn’t believe it … I didn’t believe that it was really him (Sir Alex Ferguson) on the phone.”

“But it was him, and I had an hour-long chat with him, in English. He seemed to me a modest, simple, incredible person.”

“Nobody, not him, nor the whole atmosphere, made the pressure of who they are and what they represent in footballing history weigh on my shoulders.”

“In life a chance like this only comes past you once, and you’ve got to grab it with both hands … Even if at 16 years old it isn’t an easy decision, you have to leave your home, family and friends … But I don’t want to have regrets.”

Fiorentina Suggest Arsenal Offer Eboue+Cash For Melo

According to James Dall at Sky Sports News, Fiorentina’s official website reported that the club is willing to accept Arsenal defender/winger Emmanuel Eboue + Cash for Felipe Melo. The statement read:

“In case the footballer has already reached an agreement with any club, the release clause fixed with the player himself is €25million. We would not contemplate any exchange, unless it is to the liking of Fiorentina.”

“Arsenal is the only club to have come close to the sum established by the release clause.”

“Fiorentina in turn proposed to the aforementioned club a reduction in the amount set by the release clause by including right-back (Emmanuel) Eboue in the deal.”

According to Alan Nixon & Football Spy at the Daily Mirror, Portsmouth are going to make a £7million bid for Olympiakos defender Fernando Bellushchi.

Olympiakos reportedly own only 50% of Belluschi and third-parties own the rest.

Official: Wolves Sign Ronald Zubar

UPDATE: According to Wolverhampton’s official website, Wolverhampton have signed Marseille defender Ronald Zubar for an undisclosed fee. Zubar signed a four-year deal with the club.

June 10th, 2009 According to Giscard Gourizro at Sky Sports News, Marseille midfielder Ronald Zubar admitted that he does not know anything about Wolverhampton’s interest. He said,

“I am available as I am not in the plans of the manager, apparently some fans don’t like me here … However, I still have a contract but to play in the Premier League would be a dream come true.”

“It is a top league with top strikers from all over the world playing in it … So let’s wait, but on Wolves? I don’t want to say anything because I don’t know anything.”

June 9th, 2009 According to Alan Nixon at the Daily Mirror, Wolverhampton have signed Marseille defender Ronald Zubar for £2.5million. Zubar is heading to England for a medical in a few days.
