South Africa Coach Advises McCarthy To Leave Blackburn

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira admitted that he would like to see Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy leave the club in January. He said,

“I cannot speak on his behalf, but I heard him say that in the January transfer window, he will decide on a new direction in his career.”

“Maybe he will go to a club where he can play because I don’t think a player like him would be happy to be in the reserves and not playing and coming to the national team out of shape.”

“So, if he wants my advice I think he should look for a club where he can play.”

Ritchie De Laet Not On O’Driscoll’s Radar

According to Sky Sports News, The Star is reporting that Doncaster boss Sean O’Driscoll is not interested in Manchester United youngster Ritchie De Laet. O’Driscoll said,

“We watched Manchester United reserves and there were four or five players that we would like … We chatted to them about certain players - I don’t think Ritchie was one of them; in passing, maybe - to see what the situation was, but that is as far as it goes.”

Blackburn Want Di Santo Permanently, But Not In January

According to Gary York at the Lancashire Telergraph, Blackburn would like to permanently sign Chelsea striker Franco Di Santo, but not during the January transfer window. Instead Blackburn would like to sign him on loan once again until the end of the season where they will then make an offer.

Dossena’s Agent Hopes LFC Let His Client Go

According to Simone Bargellini at Sky Sports News, Roberto La Florio, the agent of Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena, has urged Liverpool to let his client go. He told Radio Kiss Kiss,

“The will of Andrea returning to Italy is now clearly established … I hope that Liverpool give Andrea the possibility to go to play, also on a loan, to regain a spot in the World Cup.”

“Napoli? Officially there is nothing, because the market will open only in January …Last summer there was every reason for his move to Napoli, but then it didn’t finish well.”

“Interest of Roma? I’ve not had direct contacts with this club.”

Portsmouth Want To Sign O’Hara Permanently

According to Jordan Cross at The News, Portsmouth boss Paul Hart would like to sign midfielder Jamie O’Hara permanently from Tottenham. Hart said,

“Jamie – like most of the players we signed in August – has fitted in brilliantly … I think he enjoys it here and I think he’d like to stay.”

“Him saying he doesn’t want to walk away sums up his attitude, but every player we’ve got is determined to get this right in very difficult circumstances … That is the sort of attitude we need. ”

“I’ve gone on record saying we’d like to keep him and that hasn’t changed and Jamie has said he’d like to stay.”

Jamie O’Hara’s loan deal with Portsmouth ends in January.

Fulham Target Not Looking To Leave Club

According to Simone Bargellini at Sky Sports News, Palermo goalkeeper Rubinho has no desire of leaving despite being targeted by Fulham. Rubinho’s agent Joao Santos told Mediagol.it,

“Rubinho has a four-year contract with Palermo and he is an important player at the club … I think Palermo know what to do with their key players. We only expect Rubinho to stay because he’s a good keeper.”

“I’ve been working in Brazil and I’ve not spoken to anyone, not Fulham or anyone else. The rumours aren’t true … I deny everything that’s been written in recent days. Rubinho is under contract and he’s happy in Palermo … Palermo director Walter Sabatini has always told me that Fernando has to remain in Palermo.”

Manchester United Rumors: Dzeko, Van der Sar

According to Stuart Mathieson at the Manchester Evening News, Wolfsburg stiker Edin Dzeko is at the top of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s wish-list.

It is also reported that Manchester United are set to offer goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar a new 12-month contract.

Dave Kitson Looks Set To Be Loaned Out

According to Martin Spinks at WhyDelilah, Stoke City are in negotiations with Middlesbrough to loan out striker Dave Kitson. Kitson will most likely be loaned out until January where the two teams will consider making the deal permanent at that time.

Upson Has No Desire To Leave West Ham United

According to Sky Sports News, West Ham United defender Matthew Upson has no desire to leave the club. He was quoted as saying,

“Losing at West Ham is not affecting my performance … You take pride in that no matter where the team is.”

“It is not easy and it probably is better to be somewhere where you are winning matches, but West Ham is where I am at. I have a job to do for them.”

“… I am at West Ham. That is my club … I am a West Ham player. Unless something happens, I am fully concentrated on them.”
