Chairman Backing Coyle To Sign Nugent
UPDATE: According to Sky Sports News, Burnley chairman Barry Kilby is also interested in permanently signing Portsmouth striker David Nugent. Kilby said,
“We’re in discussions with Owen now to see what we can do … We’re sitting down and seeing where we can strengthen … I think David would come here like a shot and we’d like him here but we’d have to negotiate with Portsmouth when his deal is up.”
November 23rd, 2009 According to Sky Sports News, Burnley boss Owen Coyle admitted that he would love to permanently have David Nugent, who is currently at Burnley on loan from Portsmouth. Coyle said,
“David Nugent is a top-class player. If I could get him in permanently tomorrow I would love to do it … He is probably similar to one or two others in that he is a bit frustrated. But that is what we want - competition for places.”
