According to Alan Nixon at MirrorFootball, Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is preparing to make a bid of £750,000 for Fulham defender Paul Konchesky. Konchesky’s contract ends at the end of the season so the club might decide to cash in on him if they cannot work out a deal.

According to ESPN Soccernet, Manchester United assistant Mike Phelan feels that Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko is an ideal player for the Premier League. He said,

“I’m sure there are a number of teams looking at him. Are we one on them? We are looking at talent all of the time and we are in there with the rest of them,” Phelan said.

“He showed his threat in the game at Old Trafford and he appeals because he is a tall, skilful boy and in some ways he is an ideal player for the English league.

“He has stature, his feet are good and he is producing some good performances. I am sure everybody has looked at him.”

According to Alan Nixon at MirrorFootball, Blackburn look set to permanently sign Platense defender Osman Chavez.  Chavez has been on trial at the club recently. He said,

“Of all my options in Europet the strongest is from Blackburn and I hope to sign.”

According to ESPN Soccernet, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp handed a trial to Real Sociedad goalkeeper Asier Riesgo.  A statement was made by Sociedad saying,

“Asier will train next week with Tottenham.”

According to Kent Hedlundh at Sky Sports News, Manchester United have invited Sogndal footballer Even Hovland to a trial with the club. Sogndal director Trond Fylling said,

“We have accepted a trial since it’s good for Even … Even has been out for large parts of the season and needs training more than a holiday.”
