According to Nadia Carminati at Sky Sports News, Manchester City have not made an offer for Palermo defender Simon Kjaer despite being interested in him. A Palermo official told Sicilian television,

“It’s true, he interests Manchester City a lot, but there haven’t been offers … There has only been talk between me and one person from the English side, but I said we don’t (want to) sell him.”

“The buy-out clause is not available for January and I repeat, for the moment there haven’t been offers.”

Everton Considering Move For Portsmouth Striker

Okaka Looks All Set To Join Fulham On Loan

UPDATE: According to Salvatore Landolina at Goal.com, Tuttomercatoweb.com is reporting that Roma striker Stefano Okaka is all set to join Fulham on loan. His agent Domenico Scopelliti said,

“Fulham have spoken to Roma so we can define all the details, but we have to wait for [Giallorossi director] Daniele Prade to return from Dubai … The player has given his go-ahead for the transfer and he is happy to take on such an important adventure especially give the fact that the coach [Roy Hodgson] has shown admiration in him.”

December 31st, 2009 According to ESPN Soccernet, Fulham boss Roy Hodgson wants to sign Roma striker Stefano Okaka on loan. Hodgson said,

“Okaka is a possibility for us. We’re looking into it and have shown an interest … How far we go down that road will depend on other things like whether he wants to come on loan to England. The finances of the situation will also be important.

“Okaka has got quality and the fact it’s a loan is also advantageous because he’s a young player and largely untried. We’re happy with our striking options but we would like to have some cover and someone who can put pressure on the guys we have. Okaka seems to be that type of player but a lot of water must pass under the bridge before he pulls on a Fulham shirt.”

Stoke City Goalkeeper Might Have Hard Time Refusing An Offer

“My ambition is to play at the highest possible level. That is the World Cup with the national team and European competitions with the club.”

“I am happy where I am, but if an offer does come, it will be hard to refuse.”

West Ham Boss Does Not Expect Anybody To Leave

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola does not expect anybody to leave the club this month. Zola said,

“Everybody knows the financial situation. I think we have stability and do not have big problems. I am not expecting to have anybody leaving … If it will change, I do not know, but I am hoping not.”

Aston Villa Boss Wants To Hold Onto Emile Heskey

According to John Curtis at The Independent, Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill does not want to sell striker Emile Heskey, who has been linked with Liverpool. O’Neill told Press Association Sport:

“After the Blackburn game on Saturday, someone asked me about Heskey, a hypothetical question about ‘What if Emile wanted to go?’ and it took me a bit by surprise … I haven’t really sat down yet and spoken to any of the players about what is going to happen in January.”

“I couldn’t give you any guarantees about anything but we are in a situation here where I would be wanting to keep the players who are making an impact at the football club … And I think Emile in the last number of weeks has been really excellent for us.”

“Ideally, because we are involved in different competitions at this minute, I would try and keep them if it’s at all possible. I just don’t know. I will take every situation on its merits.”

Olivier Kapo Confirms He Is Leaving For A French Club

UPDATE: According to ESPN Soccernet, Wigan Athletic midfielder Olivier Kapo admitted that he is leaving the club on loan but would not name where. Kapo told France Football,

“For the moment, I’m relaxing at my home in England … But I will leave Wigan - it is certain … My lawyer came to Wigan and spoke with those in charge at the club. Everything went well. My departure will happen in a matter of days. It will be a loan at first and then a transfer. Nothing is final yet, but I will be joining a French club.”

“I am not injured, I am training hard, and I am keen to play, but I don’t play, it is very annoying … I want a change, I want a new and real challenge.”

UPDATE: Sky Sports News is reporting that the two clubs have agreed to a deal that will have Bolton pay £3.6million for Owen Coyle.

According to Alan Nixon at MirrorFootball, Burnley boss Owen Coyle has decided to quit the club and take the coaching position at Bolton.

It is reported that Bolton are “prepared to pick up the tab for his compensation, which is around £1 million.”

Manchester City Have Not Made A Move For Subotic
