Official: Bristol Sign Bolton Defender Hunt- Update

UPDATE: According to Bristol City’s official website, Bristol City have signed Bolton defender Nicky Hunt. Hunt signed a two-year deal with the club.

July 27th, 2010: According to Sky Sports News, Bristol City are close to signing Bolton defender Nicky Hunt. It is reported that Bristol are looking for a replacement for defender Bradley Orr, who is set to join QPR.

July 14th, 2010: According to Marc Iles at The Bolton News, Portsmouth are interested in signing Bolton defender Nicky Hunt. The 26-year-old hasn’t made an appearance for the first-team in over a season and has been told he can find another team.

Bolton Deal For Ivan Klasnic Back On?

According to Marc Iles at The Bolton News, Bolton are looking to sign Nantes striker Ivan Klasnic on loan once again. Bolton went after him earlier in the summer but were put off by his wages, which are around £60,000 a week. However it is reported that Nantes are now willing to pay a portion of his wages.

Klasnic scored eight goals for Bolton last season while on loan.

Hodgson Has Never Discussed Sending Out Ngog - Update

UPDATE: According to David Maddock at MirrorFootball, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has never talked to anybody about loaning out David Ngog. Hodgson said,

“I can’t stop players being linked with other clubs, but I never discussed him leaving Liverpool … I have been very impressed with him. I think Ngog has worked very hard in training and done very well in the pre-season games, and he crowned his hard work with an impressive performance.

“The goals will be a big weight off him mind, and give him confidence. Front players need goals, and he has got them, which means he can relax. He has shown us that he has the movement and touch, and quality, and I’m pleased for him.”

July 25th, 2010: According to Alan Nixon at MirrorFootball, Liverpool are going to have a hard time trying to loan out David Ngog due to his wages which are £2million-a-year.

Newcastle and Bolton are also included with West Bromwich as teams interested in Ngog.

July 15th, 2010: According to the Express and Star, West Bromwich manager Roberto Di Matteo confirmed the club’s interest in David Ngog. Matteo said,

“David is a player that we are interested in, but with loan players you wait until the end of July and the beginning of August and see which ones you might loan out.”

It is also reported that West Bromwich are interested in Blackburn striker Jason Roberts.

Bolton Not Done Yet In The Transfer Market

According to Marc Iles at The Bolton News, Bolton manager Owen Coyle is not done yet making signings this summer. Coyle said,

“I’m always looking to improve and I’m not finished yet … It’s easy to say there will be two or three new signings – but what I can say is that I’ll look to add a couple more before the end of the month.

“You can never say definitively that it will happen because as you saw with the Marcos Alonso deal, it can be quite complex … We’ll do our utmost to improve the squad by the start of the season, and if not, certainly the close of the window.”

UPDATE: According to Bolton’s official website, Bolton have completed the signing of Marcos Alonso for an undisclosed fee. Alonso signed a three-year deal with the club.

July 23rd, 2010 According to The Bolton News, Bolton are set to complete the signing of 18-year-old Real Madrid defender Marcos Alonso. It is reported that the deal will cost Bolton £1.6million and that Alonso will complete his medical over the weekend.

The signing of Marcos Alonso could lead to the departure of Jlloyd Samuel, who has drawn interest from Newcastle.

Andy O’Brien Wants To Sign New Deal With Bolton

According to Marc Iles at The Bolton News, Bolton defender Andy O’Brien, who has one-year left on his contract, admitted that he wants to stay with the club. O’Brien said,

“I’ve got a year left on my contract and I’d like to say I’m working hard to earn another one … Whether I’ll get one, I don’t know … Whatever people’s circumstances are, there is no excuse not to be give 100 per cent.

“You have to consider all your options. Gary Cahill would do if United or Liverpool came in for him … They say it is a short career and mine is even shorter now because I’m 31. But from being a little boy I wanted to play football and my attitude hasn’t changed.

“My circumstances are a little bit different now, I’m hoping to have a family, so I have to look after myself. Ultimately, I want to be playing football because there is no substitute.”

It is reported that O’Brien has been drawing interest from Newcastle and Leeds United.

Chung-Yong Lee Has No Thought About Leaving Bolton

“There’s still much for me to learn in Bolton, so I haven’t given any serious thought to the matter of a transfer … As I do my best to work with what’s given to me, chances will come and I will take them.”

“Money is important, and it’d be good to play for a big team like one in the Champions League, but most of all I want to go where I can develop myself.”

Arsenal Won’t Make Decision About Wilshere Until Later

According to Arsenal’s official website, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted that he won’t make a decision on whether to loan out Jack Wilshere until later on. Wenger said,

“At the moment I want Jack to gain experience, if possible at Arsenal … So I give him a chance now to play so that he can integrate into the first team …  But of course we will make that decision later. Ideally it is better that he gains experience with us.”

It has been reported earlier this summer that Bolton are interested in signing Jack Wilshere on loan once again.

He’s got a year left on his contract and it’s the same as where we were in March – we’re trying to sort something out … Hopefully that will get done. June 23rd, 2010 According to ESPN Soccernet, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela said he wants to play overseas and that he would be interested in playing for Birmingham. Mphela told Kick-off,

“I’m focused now on going overseas … I didn’t want to think about it during the World Cup, but now it becomes my focus.

“I don’t think I want to play PSL again. It is time to move on. I spoke to my manager yesterday and I understand Birmingham are still interested and want me to come over.

“We’ll just wait for the details to be sorted out as to when I will go over, but I don’t want to wait. I want to go now while I am in form and ready.”
