According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne will not make his loan deal permanently with Wolverhampton. When asked if he would stay full-time, Mancienne said,

“I don’t think so. I am definitely going back to Chelsea. I want to try and fight for my place … I think I have a good chance of getting (in the team) … I’ve just got to keep doing what I’m doing, and keep playing well, and then I think I’ll give myself a bigger opportunity of playing in that team.”

“I am enjoying playing week in and week out. That is what I need to better myself and improve as a footballer because I can’t sit on the bench and improve … I think I made the right decision (coming to Wolves). Coming to Wolves has improved me as a player. I am playing regular football in the best league in the world.”

Contract Talks Stall Once Again With Nicolas Anelka

According to Sky Sports News, contract talks between Chelsea and Nicolas Anelka have stalled once again. Sources of Sky Sports even claim that there is a ‘10 per cent chance’ of the two parties reaching an agreement.

Anelka’s current deal expires in 18 months and Chelsea could cash in on him in the summer if they feel they will not be able to reach a deal.

Chelsea To Pay £3.5Million For Sturridge, Could Increase More

Sergio Aguero Staying Put At Atletico Madrid

According to ESPN Soccernet, Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero ruled out the possibility of leaving the club this month. Aguero told Atletico’s official website:

“I am aware that there are always rumours about my future, but actually I am isolated from everything. I have always made clear my commitment to Atletico and everybody knows it. Do not pay much attention to what comes out. All I am doing is playing and worrying about the team, so these things do not affect me.”

December 21st, 2009 According to The Independent, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni. Toni is expected to leave the club in January due to a fall out with manager Louis Van Gaal.

Ancelotti might go after Toni to provide cover for Didier Drogba during the African Nations Cup. However Toni might turn down a move to Chelsea as he is looking for regular first-team football, which he may not receive when Drogba returns.
