Official: Everton striker Jutkiewicz Joins Coventry City

According to Everton’s official website, Everton have sold striker Lukas Jutkiewicz to Coventry City for an undisclosed fee. Jutkiewicz signed a three-year deal with the club.

Jutkiewicz scored 11 goals in 33 appearances for Motherwell last season while on loan.

Official: Newcastle Complete Signing Of Dan Gosling Update

UPDATE: According to Newcastle’s official website, Newcastle have completed the signing of free agent Dan Gosling. Gosling signed a four-year deal with the club.

July 21st, 2010: According to Sky Sports News, Newcastle will complete the signing of Dan Gosling in the next 24 hours.

July 19th, 2010: According to Sky Sports News, Newcastle are on the verge of signing free agent midfielder Dan Gosling.

July 11th, 2010: According to Alan Nixon at MirrorFootball, Newcastle have completed the signing of Dan Gosling. It is reported that Gosling is going to make around £25,000-a-week.

July 7th, 2010: According to ESPN Soccernet, Dan Gosling has become a free agent as the Premier League ruled in his favor that he was allowed to leave the club. It is also reported that West Ham United and Sunderland are interested in Gosling.

July 7th, 2010 According to Greg O’Keeffe at the Liverpool Echo, Everton midfielder Dan Gosling is looking to quit the club on a free transfer as he claims he is a free-agent. It is reported that the club signed Gosling to a verbal deal but it was never put in writing by mid-May which allows Gosling to leave the club.

Gosling is thought to be interested in a move to Newcastle United.

UPDATE: According to David Prentice at the Liverpool Echo, Everton confirmed that they rejected a bid from Arsenal for Phil Jagielka but that the bid was not as high as reported. It is also reported that Everton plan to reject any increased bid.

July 17th, 2010 According to Paul Smith at MirrorFootball, Arsenal made a bid of £14million for Everton defender Phil Jagielka that was rejected. However it is reported that Arsenal are prepared to increase their bid to £16million.

Everton Look To Be Done Signing Players This Summer

According to MirrorFootball, Everton boss David Moyes admitted that the club is most likely done purchasing players this summer as they do not have any cash to do so. Moyes said,

“There’s no cash to sign any more players for the club for the time being so it’s unlikely we will be bringing in any more new faces before the new season starts in August … But I feel we’ve got enough firepower up-front now with Jermaine Beckford adding to the competition we have for places and also providing the back-up we needed after last season.”

According to Greg O’Keeffe at the Liverpool Echo, Everton boss David Moyes admitted that one or two young players from the World Cup impressed him and that he’s keeping his eye on them. Moyes said,

“I don’t think it’s a market where anyone particularly buys from. There have been a lot of players there who play in the Premier League and have maybe played better than they do in the league and others you’ve expected more from and it didn’t happen.”

“Overall though I don’t think it’s a good place to buy from. What it does offer you is the chance to see the emerging talent. Players who have made their squads and are coming through … There were one or two young kids I liked and have been keeping an eye on.”

Tottenham Not Going After Steven Pienaar

Landon Donovan Happy In Los Angeles

According to ESPN Soccernet, Los Angeles Galaxy footballer Landon Donovan is happy with his club and wants to stay in America for the time being. Donovan said,

“Right now, I want to be in America and I absolutely love being here and I loved getting back to my team-mates today … As you know, I never say never to anything and, right now, rumours are rumours.”

“If there’s something serious to look at, then I will but, for now, I’m very excited to be home.”

Everton Agree To Pre-Contract With Mucha- Finally Official

UPDATE: According to David Randles at the Daily Post, Jan Mucha finally became an Everton player when he signed with the club yesterday after becoming a free agent.

January 23rd, 2010: According to Vasek Kadlec at Sky Sports News, Everton have signed a pre-contract agreement with Jan Mucha. Mucha will sign with the club in the summer on a three-year deal.

January 22nd, 2010 According to the London Evening Standard, Everton boss David Moyes confirmed that he has begun talking with Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Jan Mucha. Moyes said,

“I couldn’t confirm that [there is an agreement] at the moment but we are in talks … He came in and saw us for a day or two this week.”

Mucha is out of contract with the club at the end of the season.

“It is true that David and myself have spoken to Mikel on a couple of occasions this summer and tried to persuade him his future lies with us.”

“We earnestly believe that is still the case. The health of Gabriel has never been mentioned in these discussions.”

June 19th, 2010 According to the Sky Sports News, Bolton are leading the way for midfielder Martin Petrov who is available on a free transfer after being released by Manchester City. It is reported that Petrov is set to undergo a medical for the club although the two parties are not close to a deal.

Everton, Aston Villa, and West Ham United are all thought to be interested in Petrov as well.
