Franck Ribery Updates

According to ESPN Soccernet, Bayern Munich superstar Franck Ribery want to join Real Madrid or stay with the club. He told L’Equipe,

“I have decided that I want to leave. It will be Real Madrid or nothing … I will wait to see how things pan out but I would like to hold talks with the Bayern management soon.”

According to ESPN Soccernet, Franck Ribery would prefer to play for Real Madrid instead of Barcelona. However, Manchester United were not even mentioned in the conversation. Ribery’s agent Alan Miglaccio told RAC-1,

“Ribery would prefer to play for Real Madrid ahead of Barcelona … The player has spoken with Zinedine Zidane and wants to sign for Los Merengues.”

“At this time any move is off because the people at Bayern are on holiday until the end of the month. I cannot say anything more until we meet with them in the coming weeks.”

According to ESPN Soccernet, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Barcelona have made bids for Franck Ribery, but Real Madrid have not. However Bayern Munich still do not wish to sell Ribery. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild,

“No [Real Madrid have not made an offer] but other clubs have done. Chelsea have lodged a bid, as have Manchester United and Barcelona.”

“We are relaxed and proud that we have one of the best three players in the world under contract. The power lies with Bayern Munich.”

“I don’t want to talk about sums of money because it is not in our interest. The amount is irrelevant.”

According to Robin Hackett at Setanta Sports, Bayern Munich will sell Franck Ribery if they receive a large, crazy offer. General manager Uli Hoeness said,

“We have said that we will only negotiate under certain conditions … Namely, when another club does something crazy.”

According to ESPN Soccernet, Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness told the newspaper Bild,

“If I hear that there was an offer for 125 million euros for Kaka, then Ribery has a market value of at least 100 million … But I don’t want to talk about a fee we would consider because we want to keep hold of Franck.”

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the newspaper Tz,

“only FC Bayern decides what happens, however many millions are offered. We do not want to sell Franck.”

According to Thomas Zocher at Sky Sports, Bayern Munich denied that they received a £40 million bid for superstar Franck Ribery. Bayern media officer Markus Horwick said,

“This story is completely untrue … Franck Ribery remains not for sale.”

According to Tom Kell at Setanta Sports, Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness confirmed that Manchester United have asked about superstar Franck Ribery. He said,

“I would really not even answer the phone if the amount would just be £34m … There was a casual request from Man Utd. But then it depends on Cristiano Ronaldo.”
